The first Social Society was founded in May 2023 when I (hi, I'm Gracie!) moved to Perth, Australia from the UK. I stayed in hostels to try and make friends but quickly found they weren't half as social as their Southeast Asian/ European counterparts - and I really, really struggled.

So one day, I decided to put on a bar crawl and advertised on some local backpacker groups. People loved it, and fast forward nearly 3 years, helping people make friends is now my full time job across 3 different cities in Australia.

We are open to anyone 18-35 who wants to make friends, and now we run bar crawls, boat parties and camping trips designed to help young people socialise. My favourite thing ever is the drunk bathroom moments where a member tells me that without Society, they'd never have met their best friends, and it is such a beautiful party of my job!
